Working with Future Generations Cymru
Our top mission as the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales and team Future Generations Cymru is to make the Well-being of Future Generations Act (WFGA) work harder.
Our top mission as the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales and team Future Generations Cymru is to make the Well-being of Future Generations Act (WFGA) work harder.
Our strategy, Cymru Can, sets out our vision and purpose, and outlines five missions we’re putting our energy behind from now until 2030. Cymru Can go further and we’re working with others to create the urgent change needed for Cymru to be a better place to live, with a bright and optimistic future – thriving, inclusive and green.
Though the WFGA covers public bodies, all across Wales, organisations and individuals are dedicated to improving the well-being of future generations. We’re a small team and Cymru Can needs the efforts of everyone with an interest in a good future.
You can get in touch, share your examples of change and ideas for collaboration at contactus@futuregenerations.wales.
We are seeking two new members to join our Audit, Risk and Assurance Committee (ARAC) by April 2026. The Committee provides independent assurance and advice to the Commissioner on governance, risk, and control within the Office.

Remuneration: Daily rate set by the Commissioner, plus associated travel and subsistence costs in line with policy.

Remote participation is fully supported.
Across the two roles, we seek particular expertise in:
Finance
Digital technology
The Office of the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales (FGCO) would like to commission support in developing a “train the trainer” programme of learning and support on
the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015.
The purpose of this is to increase the implementation and impact of the Act – the core mission of the current Future Generations Commissioner. Due to constraints on internal expertise,
resource and capacity, we are seeking proposals from individuals or organisations who can help us develop a self-sustaining programme of learning and support that can be rolled out
across Wales and beyond.
Adapt existing multi-media content to a “train the trainer” format, producing a tested comprehensive guide and training programme as a “grab and go” resource (Output 1).
Advise on a wraparound ongoing programme of support for trainers or a network; and recommendations for expansion (Output 2).
We require everyone we work with to use the Act, especially the five ways of working, in shaping their methodology and carrying out their work. Therefore, we expect you to involve end-users
throughout the project and collaborate with our team and other supporting organisations.
