Introduction

We provide advice, assistance, support and learning & development opportunities to people on the Well-being of Future Generations Act in a variety of ways.

We publish recommendations and reports; comment on policy and current affairs; produce toolkits and resources; provide advice directly to organisations; and respond to members of the public that contact us.

Where we can, we will meet with you to advise, provide presentations, training, sign-posting, resources, toolkits, case studies, guidance and general support.

Our team receive many requests for support and we need to prioritise those organisations with duties under the Act; but please e-mail contactus@futuregenerations.wales with your query and we will see how we can help.

Upcoming learning and development sessions

Acting today for a better tomorrow: Understanding the Act

Dates of upcoming online sessions:

  • 3 December 2025, 10.00am – 12.30pm

  • 10 February 2026, 1.30pm – 4.00pm

This session will aim to introduce you to the Act or provide you with a refresh.

Through this session you will:

  • Increase your knowledge on the Well-being of Future Generations Act and what it means for public bodies.
  • Deepen your understanding of how the sustainable development principle shapes and influences how public bodies work.
  • Develop skills in acting in accordance with the sustainable development principle (centred around the five ways of working).
  • Use resources and tools intended to help you take learning away and apply it to your own work.

At the end of the session you’ll be able to:

  • Talk about the Well-being of Future Generations Act and why it is such an important piece of legislation.
  • Explain your organisations’ role under the legislation.
  • Give an example of when and how to use the ways of working.

This session may be particularly of interest to people who would like an introduction or refresh to the Act – perhaps new staff members, those returning to work, those working in sections of public bodies less exposed to corporate training on the Act or newly Elected Officials.

If you have any queries, please e-mail contactus@futuregenerations.wales, directing your e-mail to Heledd Morgan.
