Leadership Academy
Course Details: The Programme
What to expect at the Future Generations Leadership Academy (FGLA)
There are currently two ways of joining the Academy: Open recruitment and sponsors. Below is also information on other ways we offer support to applicants joining the Academy.
This is a free route for participants, supported by our sponsors to apply for anyone who is ready to learn and equip themselves on their leadership journey – available for employed and unemployed young people. Participants applying via open recruitment secure their spot after a selection process. Applications for open recruitment open online from May until June.
For applicants who are employed (full-time or part-time), you will need to confirm that:
We will ask your line manager/employer to help you identify a focus area for a change plan that you will develop during the Academy. A request will also be made for your line manager/employer to complete a very short survey on your leadership development at the beginning and end of the programme.
If you’re an employer/organisation that would like to invest in a young person’s future – you can cover their tuition fees by sponsoring their spot in the Academy. Sponsorships give opportunities to young people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to take part equally in the programme, at no cost to them.
Participants of the Academy strengthen their understanding of the Well-being of Future Generations Act and the leadership skills they need to apply the Act and excel in their careers, allowing your organisation to be part of the movement for change in Wales.
