Alternative models for improving health and well-being is one of the priority areas for the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales.

“As Future Generations Commissioner for Wales I welcome all initiatives that aim to make Wales a better place to live and I add my support to the Arts Council of Wales, who have called for dance classes and arts lessons to be available on prescription. The link between the arts and our well-being is well-established and I look forward to working with the Arts Council on other projects to strengthen this important relationship.

“As well as a shift in prioritising how public services understand and invest in what keeps people well, the Arts Council for Wales calls for arts and health co-ordinators to be funded by the NHS. This a good example of how public services could be working differently.”
