Audit and Risk Assessment Committee

Sophie Howe, the Future Generations Commissioner for Wales, is the guardian for the interests of future generations in Wales and her role is to support the 44 public bodies, including the Welsh Government, to work towards achieving the well-being goals and to monitor and report on their progress.

She is looking for people with a passionate interest in making a positive difference to the lives of Future Generations in Wales to join her Audit and Risk Assurance Committee.

The Committee ensures that the Commissioner and her office gain the assurance they need on governance, risk management, the control environment and on the integrity of the financial statements, as well as other elements of the Annual Report and Accounts process.

 

Meetings take place four times a year either at our Office in Cardiff or in other locations or remotely with the use of technology.

Interested applicants should be able to demonstrate a general understanding of organisational governance and accountability issues, an ability to think strategically and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of sustainable development is desirable.

 

Recruitment to these posts will be governed by the competency framework and good practice outlined in HM Treasury guidelines.
