Simple Changes #33

Encourage your staff to visit local projects and meet key local people driving change

1

Problem

There is often a feeling of disconnect between the public services we deliver, and the local, grassroots projects driven by local people driving change. We are used to reading and reporting statistics about people’s well-being but are less used to experiencing that in person.

2

Simple Change

By encouraging your staff to visit local projects and meet local people driving change throughout their communities, you can inspire your staff to be proactive and more invested in community projects. It also gives a much richer understanding of the drivers and blockers of change within the community and what is having a real effect on people’s well-being.

Case Study

Who is doing this?

Welcome To Our Woods Project

Welcome to our woods are a community in the Upper Rhondda Fawr, South Wales Valleys. It is a project that looks to making the local woodland more useful & relevant to the community and region. Helen Green went to find out how public bodies can benefit from supporting their local community groups.
