Welsh workers have the lowest take home pay in the UK, with median weekly earnings for full-time workers was £498.40, more than £50 less than the UK as a whole.

Simple Change

It’s essential that public services in Wales are walking the talk in terms of our public sector values. This means paying all employees a living wage. It is not only the right thing to do for them, it also makes good business sense. 86% of accredited businesses have said it has improved the reputation of the business and 75% say it has increased motivation and retention rates for employees.

Paying the living wage can make a real difference to the well-being of your employees. Cynnal Cymru are the Living Wage accreditation body for Wales and are encouraging all public bodies to become accredited employers.
